Children’s Celebrates Our Employees for Doing Everything Possible for Kids During 2024 National Hospital Week
During 2024 National Hospital Week—Monday, May 13, through Saturday, May 13—Children’s celebrated the more than 14,000 employees who do everything possible to make anything possible for our patients and their families! To fuel more Excitement in Work and recognize our teams for their hard work and dedication, Children’s hosted special activations, themed dress-up days, daily giveaways and more. From photo ops with our Hope and Will mascots and special wellness offerings to gift reveals and visits from local sports heroes, our largest celebration of the year was definitely one for the books.
On Mission Monday, employees throughout our System sported their Children’s T-shirts and shared their favorite, most special Children’s memories for a chance to win our Mission Monday Giveaway! Three lucky winners received Arthur M. Blank swag bags and Children’s camp chairs. And what’s better on Mission Monday than a surprise from Hope and Will? That’s exactly what employees at the Center for Advanced Pediatrics and Hughes Spalding got! Our beloved mascots rounded for photo ops with teams and continued to pop up at other campuses throughout the week.
Tie-Dye Tuesday was totally rad—as employees wore their grooviest tie-dye T-shirts and outfits to work—spreading joy and brightening our halls for the whole day. Many even shared photos of them and their team members in their tie-dye for a chance to win a summer-inspired Children’s prize in the Tie-Dye Tuesday Giveaway.
On Wellness Wednesday, employees practiced being Committed to Self by participating in the Mindful Minutes Challenge, taking a Strong4Life class or going on a lunchtime walk with colleagues. And a few shared their favorite ways to incorporate selfcare into their busy routines for a chance to win a Strong4Life prize package in the Wellness Wednesday Giveaway.
For Thank You Thursday, all employees received a special gift—as many guessed, a Children’s rolling cooler—as a token of gratitude from Children’s for all they do to help make our Vision a reality. As part of our continued partnership with the Atlanta Falcons, mascot Freddie Falcon surprised a select few nurses at Egleston, Hughes Spalding and Scottish Rite with “Freddie-grams” (a few pictured below) to say thank you for all they do for our patients—including a fun gift package and photo op on their units. Go Falcons!
On Fan Friday, employees showed spirit for their favorite sports team by wearing team gear. As a special surprise, Atlanta Braves Pitcher Tyler Matzek shared a “Thank You” message with the Children’s family. And employees throughout the System comment photos in their favorite fan gear for a chance to win autographed Atlanta Hawks and Atlanta United merch!
Teams at Scottish Rite and Egleston also enjoyed a fun break with the Atlanta Falcons and Atlanta United Street teams—complete with games, photo ops with players and giveaways.
To close out the week, Superhero Saturday honored all the “Weekend Warriors” in our halls who are bringing our Vision to fruition during weekend shifts.
Children’s heroes throughout the System wore capes and superhero-themed gear to work, and some commented photos in their super-fits for a chance to win an Atlanta Braves baseball signed by outfielder Ronald Acuna Jr. in our Superhero Saturday Giveaway.
Thank you again to all our Children’s family for making anything possible for kids. We are so appreciative of all you do and hope you enjoyed celebrating National Hospital Week!
