Closed out the Madness of March with MIRACLES!

As we turn our calendar pages to April – there is much to celebrate in the realm of Miracle Network Dance Marathon for the month of March! Both MNDM programs at Georgia Tech (Miracle at Georgia Tech) and Kennesaw State University (Miracle at KSU) held their annual Dance Marathon events this past month. These schools cumulatively raised more than $250,000 for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta this past year!

On Saturday, March 12th, Miracle at Georgia Tech hosted their 10 hour event fundraising specifically for the Heart Center at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Many Miracle Families were present, including 2022 Miracle Kid Caleigh, who is a heart patient herself! The day was filled with morale dance routines, a miracle kid talent show, and even included a Battle of the Bands portion! Later in the afternoon, the students participated in a “Children’s Staff Panel”, where a wide range of Heart Center staff members shared unique and genuine insight on their careers and the culture at Children’s. Emory and Children’s researcher, Dr. Mike Davis, was also able to share more on the incredible research Miracle at Georgia Tech is helping fund. At the end of the night, the students revealed a fundraising total of $120,783.22! A 50% YOY increase in fundraising for the Yellowjackets!

Later in the month, on March 26th, more than 200 students gathered at Kennesaw State University’s Student Activity Center for Miracle at KSU’s first in person Dance Marathon in 2 years. Miracle at KSU’s event lasts from 12:00PM to 12:00AM, and raises funds for the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center. Many patient families also attended and shared their stories about the impact that Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta has had on their lives. This year’s event was themed “The Greatest Cause on Earth” with fun nods to the popular movie, “The Greatest Showman”. When the clock stuck 12:00 AM, Miracle at KSU revealed a total of $135,156.00! THANK YOU to both Miracle at Georgia Tech and Miracle at Kennesaw state for your dedication to Children’s!
