The Future of Pediatric Health at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta

It is such an exciting time for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, as the future of pediatric healthcare is full of hope and promise. The new Arthur M. Blank hospital is slated to be complete in early 2025. This new hospital, located off of North Druid Hills and I-85, will have a total of 446 patient beds. That is 116 more beds than our current Egleston location. The Arthur M. Blank hospital will set Children’s up to treat more kids, and with intentional and innovative details weaved into every inch of the building, the new hospital is being built for decades to come. The campus will be settled on 78 acres, including 3 acres of walking trails and 20 acres of green space. Currently, for reference, our Scottish Rite location is on 13 acres and Egleston hospital is on 7 acres.

Children’s has utilized clinicians, technicians, patient families, and employees to perfect every detail of the new Arthur M. Blank hospital. Some highlights include a nurse server that can be accessed from outside a patient room to eliminate disturbances to the patient and family, customized couches in a patient rooms that can comfortably fit two adults, and state-of-the-art, shadow-free lighting in operating and trauma rooms that hangs from the ceiling to free up space.
