2nd Annual Christmas Tree Farm presented by Ace Hardware Ushers In Holiday Season in Atlanta

On December 5th, patients at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta’s Egleston Hospital woke to find a festive Christmas Tree Farm in the hospital’s garden area. In the garden, patients were able to choose from over 200 miniature Christmas trees to call their own. This magical event was made possible by CMN Partner Ace Hardware – who supplied all the trees, ornaments, lights, and jolly volunteers.

For many families, hospital stays become unexpected obstacles for already-hectic holiday plans. Through this annual tree farm, Ace Hardware hopes to bring holiday cheer and magic to our families, regardless of their circumstance. After picking out a tree, patients made their way through the seasonally transformed garden, picking out ornaments, tree lights, and even tree skirts – courtesy of fellow CMN Partner, JOANN. Christmas Caroles and Sing-A-Longs were sung musicians by Songs For Kids, an organization dedicated to providing music mentorship and interactive programs for kids and young adults with illnesses, injuries and disabilities. Before each patient left with their new tree, they of course had the chance to visit with Kris Kringle, himself!

Later that day, many clinical staff members remarked on how festive the hospital halls now were, seeing a decorated tree shining in almost every room. THANK YOU, Ace Hardware, for providing these magical memories for so many. A special heartfelt thank you to Fixit Ace Hardware owner, Michael Harwell, who brought this idea to life in Atlanta – may you always be on the “Nice List”!
