Panda Cares Center of Hope Celebration

On May 16, we welcomed Panda Express to Scottish Rite to celebrate the new space, the Panda Cares Center of Hope, that they have dedicated for our patients and families. This playroom is a tangible representation of Panda’s commitment to support our patients emotionally, mentally, physically, and spiritually. In addition, Panda has pledged to raise $3.4 million for patients at Children’s by 2030.

To kick off this special celebration celebration, guests enjoyed hearing from two patient families and one of Children’s Child Life Specialist, Becca Doobrow, who is also the handler for one of our therapy dogs, Blanche. Additionally, Janine Musholt, President of Children’s Foundation, and Kevin Yang, Director of Regional Operations for Panda Express, shared heartfelt words of gratitude for the Panda Express + Children’s partnership. Afterwards, attendees dispersed in smaller groups to visit the Panda Cares Center of Hope and tour other hospital spaces, such as the rehabilitation pool and gym. They also engaged with patients while making panda-themed crafts and assembled over 150 meal bags for patients and families.

The enthusiastic energy from Panda Express was palpable throughout the entire celebration. Thank you, Panda, for your partnership and generosity!
