Camp is in Session! Children’s Camps kick off the Summer
This week, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta kicked off the 2023 Summer Camp Season at Camp Twin Lakes. At Children’s, we believe every child deserves to experience summer camp. Camp provides children the chance to have fun, meet others with similar conditions, and build confidence. The Children’s Camps summer program offers 9 different diagnosis-specific camps. For many kids, summer camp is a rite of passage. At Children’s Camps, kids with a chronic illness, disability or other life challenge can connect with other kids who understand the struggles they face, all while participating in fun, traditional camp activities. Camp is a place where kids can get back to just being kids. 2023 Miracle Kid Samerah has attended Children’s Camp Independence, a sleepaway camp for kids with solid organ transplants, transplant candidates, and kidney disease.
Camp is 100% donor funded. The generosity and support of our partners allows campers to attend at little to no cost to their families. With camp in full swing, there are still in-kind needs that will help make the most of our camper’s experience.
