Childhood Cancer Awareness Month

Being home to one of the top ranked childhood cancer centers in the country, Children’s places a lot of emphasis on the month of September. Last year, the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center diagnosed 456 children with cancer, and more than 7,400 children were treated at all three hospital campuses.

While September is an incredible opportunity to raise awareness for childhood cancer, it is important to remember that our patients, nurses and doctors are fighting this fight 365 days a year. Every Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center physician is also a researcher, and they work around the clock to be able to offer over 400 clinical trials to patients. Everything that Children’s physicians learn is shared with all other pediatric cancer centers across the country, because we are in this together.
