Children’s Adds a member to their Furry Family

Earlier this summer, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta welcomed Ali the Golden Doodle onto the Canines For Kids team. The Canines for Kids initiative has been incorporating Animal Assisted Therapy into the lives of patients and families since its inception in 2009. Thanks to the dedicated supports of CFK, Children’s has 16 four-legged friends on staff! Each service dog calls a unique hospital department their home. Golden Retriever, Ali, motivates patients to get moving in Orthotics and Prosthetics, while Black Lab, Lotus, pays visits to employees through the Staff Support department.

Ali will be joining the Inpatient Rehab team at Scottish Rite. You can find her inspiring kids to reach their goals in the main therapy gym, or cuddling up in a hospital bed after a long day of exercises. The average stay on Children’s Comprehensive Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit is 21 days, so Ali is sure to make some very strong friendships with patients and families.
