Grand Opening and Moving Day at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta’s Arthur M. Blank Hospital!
On Sunday, September 29th, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta made history by successfully completing the largest pediatric move this country has ever seen. Starting bright and early at 7:00am,
Clinical Care Teams and an estimated 1,000 Support Staff Volunteers worked together to safely and efficiently move more than 200 patients from Egleston Hospital to the new Arthur M. Blank Hospital in just under 10 hours. 65 ambulances from organizations all across the state of Georgia were used to transport these patients to their newest, brightest, and strongest beacon of hope. In this new facility, we can broaden our reach and uphold our commitment to care for kids today and for generations to come.
The first patient to arrive from Egleston Hospital was 8 year hold Brithany, who was welcomed into the Main Lobby of Arthur M. Blank Hospital with cheers, smiles, and many happy tears. For so many, this day, and the many detailed logistics behind it, has been years in the making! To see this hospital finally open its doors and fulfill its purpose, was sure to bring about a multitude of emotions.
This day would not have been possible without the support of partners like those within the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals family. Every dollar raised, whether at a self-checkout kiosk, Dance Marathon event, or Extra Life stream, is making a lasting impact on Georgia’s Kids through the care they will now receive at Arthur M. Blank Hospital. Want to learn more about this historic day? Be sure to follow @childrensatl on social channels and tune into previous post and saved highlights.
