Phi Mu at UNG Doubles Down for Children’s

Phi Mu was founded in 1852 at Wesleyan College in Macon, Ga. and is the second oldest sorority in the nation. Phi Mu has provided social opportunities, a support network, and personal enrichment resources to members for over 160 years. In that time over 175,000 Phi Mu women have been vibrant members of college campuses and we have chartered over 247 chapters.

In the early 1980s there was a movement within Phi Mu for more “hands on” programs that would bring the satisfaction of seeing the results of philanthropic work locally. At the 1986 National Convention, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals was adopted as the national philanthropy of Phi Mu Fraternity.

With Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta being the local hospital supported by Phi Mu at the University of North Georgia, this chapter raised over $10,000 in the 2022-23 school year.  On Wednesday, April 12, the chapter gathered to celebrate and present this grand total. These incredible efforts will also help their on-campus organization, Miracle UNG, double their total! With a common philanthropic heart, Phi Mu at UNG will assist Miracle UNG in getting one step closer to a goal of $35,000 raised for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.

Thank you, Phi Mu at UNG, for all of your continued support and kindness!
