A Day of Collaboration, Reflection and Connection with the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Foundation
The Atlanta CMN team gathered off-site on Monday, July 18th to attend the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Foundation-wide retreat. This full-day event took place at the Chick-Fil-A Junior Achievement Discovery Center with over 60 Foundation members in attendance. The morning kicked off with a panel discussion which included four of Children’s key partners. Panel participants included Hannah Jordan, Senior Corporate Partnership Activation Manager (Atlanta United); Tyler Hargrove, Director, Corporate Partnership Activation (Atlanta Falcons); Shirlynn Brownell, Director of Economic Development (City of Brookhaven); Reed Irvine, Director of Donations Logistics & Growth (America’s Thrift Stores). Each speaker emphasized the importance of intentional, strategic connection to have successful, win-win partnerships.
Following lunch, all Foundation members got to listen to Laura Perdue share the emotional story of her son Carston Perdue, a 2020 Miracle Child. The Perdue’s story re-rooted all employees in the why and for whom we do this impactful work. Overall, the day included the chief takeaways of creativity, collaboration, resilience, and the importance of self-care. The retreat culminated with tasty treats from King of Pops and a good old-fashioned scavenger hunt to spark some healthy competition and fun.
