Extra Life Superheroes Unite: Celebrating the 10th Annual Cape Day at Children’s

In celebration of the 10th annual Cape Day, an event dedicated to recognizing our young patients facing illnesses and injuries at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, the Atlanta Extra Life program transformed into superheroes to show their support for our local CMN Hospital. Extra Life is a fundraising initiative of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals that harnesses the enthusiasm of the gaming community to benefit our hospital. One outstanding champion of this cause is Shaun Jennings. Not only has Shaun been an Extra Life participant for 12 years, but he also works as an employee at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.

During the week of Cape Day, Shaun rallied the IS&T (Information Systems and Technology) department at Children’s to join him in his Extra Life fundraising efforts. For each donation made by an IS&T employee to Shaun’s Extra Life page, they were given the opportunity to leave their mark on an Extra Life T-shirt. By the end of the week, Shaun successfully raised over $2,000 on his Extra Life donation page and collected a shirt filled with words of encouragement, which will be donated to a patient at Children’s. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Shaun for channeling his passion for gaming to support the children at our hospital, going above and beyond to make a difference in their lives.
